The Ukraine war spurs Europe to find new gas suppliers. Liquefied natural gas is the solution, but using it means investment in ships and new infrastructure.
Italy, France, Germany and Spain are investing in energy transformation and aiming to strike deals with the world’s leading suppliers: Australia, Qatar, and the United States. Infrastructure like ships, processing plants and ports will be crucial.
The NRP allocates €3.8 billion for the modernisation of Italian ports. One of the most important projects will be the construction of the breakwater in Genoa.
