Sotra, the Norvegian road network of the future

Norway launches a maxi road project and wraps up a NOK 19.8 billion (€2.0 billion) financial closure with Sotra Link SA (of which Webuild Group is part with Macquarie and SK ecoplant), which will be in charge of financing, designing, building and managing the network in the Vestland county. In all, more than 9 kilometres (more than 5.6 miles) of highways; a suspension bridge 900 metres long, 30 metres wide and equipped with 140 high pylons between Øygarden and Bergen; 12.5 kilometres of tunnels and galleries; 23 tunnel accesses, 22 bridges and viaducts; 19 road and pedestrian underpasses; and 14 kilometres of pedestrian and bicycle paths.

This major work (among the largest contracts awarded in Europe in 2021) confirms Norway’s willingness to invest in the modernisation of its road network.
