Together, they shuttle 50 billion passengers a year. London was the first to open one– known as the Underground, or the Tube – in 1863, while Taoyuan City in Taiwan became the last, putting it into service as recently as March 2, 2017. “We Build Value” has compiled an unscientific list of the 10 most remarkable among them.
