Rome Silent Beauty
The Eternal City reveals itself like never before.
The Eternal City reveals itself like never before. Rome projects itself to the world through its empty monuments, deserted squares, and roads free of traffic.
It is 2020, and the world is in lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Italian capital presents itself without its usual intermediaries: residents and tourists. A photographer takes images that evoke sensations that are both stunning and profound. These timeless images can be viewed until February 28 at a free exhibit entitled “Rome Silent Beauty” organised by Webuild and the VIVE Institute – Vittoriano e Palazzo Venezia. Come March, a book of the photographs bearing the same title will be put on sale by Rizzoli. It will also have words by Pietro Salini, Claudio Strinati and Massimo Recalcati.
